1950 – 1979

Founding of the company, transition from a glass container business to plastic container business

TAKEMOTO Co., Ltd. was originally founded in March 1950 in Taito-ku, Tokyo, as a glass bottle recycling company. The company opened its first “showroom” in Kappabashi market street during 1960, In the following years, the company transitioned from glass related business to plastic, aiming to expand the market for its signature product: “Standard bottles”.

1980 – 1999

Business expansion, transitioning from trading company to manufacturer

Establishment of sales offices in Osaka and Fukuoka for domestic market expansion. After the establishment of a printing facility in Yoshikawa-machi, the company also initiated in-house production of plastic bottles, becoming a manufacturing firm. Its production capacity was later strengthened by the establishment of the Yuki Factory in Yuki, Ibaraki prefecture.

2000 – 2009

Strengthening Japanese domestic production capacity and initiating global expansion

Various new options such as printing, decoration, extrusion tubes, pumps, color pellets, and aluminum press molding are added as new offerings as a “Customized Bottle Factory”. New sales offices and production sites established in China, and a sales subsidiary founded in the U.S.A. opened the door to international markets.

2010 – 2019

Becoming a publicly listed company; domestic and overseas business expansion

The company was listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2014, and listed on the Frist Section in 2017. New overseas locations in Thailand, The Netherlands, China (Guangzhou), and India further accelerated the speed of overseas expansion. In Japan, new factories have been built and existing factories have been relocated, further strengthening sales activities in international markets and enhancing supply capacity.
